How to find phishing emails
Phishing has become one of the criminal activity in the Internet world today. If we trace the word "phishing" is actually derived from the word "fishing" means fishing. So phishing is a way to steal important information from others, such as usernames, passwords, PIN or credit card numbers. Modus diverse, ranging from sending fake emails to create fake websites that resemble the original.
Related to the above story, a month ago I sent emails on behalf of associated content. It is a website gathering place for writers from around the world that I follow. Website This is very famous among the freelance writer, I also frequently use it for sharing, get income and look for tips from the world's top writers. But after I saw his email there is a strange, especially in terms of its content is different from usual. Finally, I intend to check the support associated content.
Why do I suspect this email? The first structure is different from the usual language used by the original site, to a two-link address that is used also feels awkward for me. Here's the email quote I received:
"Dear Associated content user,
Right now we want to perform regular scheduled for monthly accounts, we had checked our system found incompatible information which seems to be no longer valid with your current account information that we have on system. If you changed your account information please follow up the link below and update your account information.

Best regard,
Associated Content team "
That quote the email I received from builders' phishing ". The question is, how can I know that the email was a fake? The answer lies in:
1. Opening greeting did not name me as a member in their database. This is a sign that they do not have our information database, and trying to get through this email.
2. Then the link provided it looks strange, it's obvious not from the support associated content, because if viewed more closely it is a sub domain of the website domain and hosting provider for free. Usually when your friends click the website address as above, then your friends will be displayed form website look like the original. When friends tried to "log" then they've managed to get the data of friends.
3. To ensure more obvious to me directly contact support associated content, they respond quickly and ensure that it was not an email from them and they were not doing maintenance system. I immediately instructed to leave / ignore the email.
When I check the website address again if it was true phishing websites, because the address is now no longer active (Not found). Such activities have occurred worldwide popularity as users of the internet and we should be more careful and vigilant when receiving emails. Because if we explore further, phishing activity This was not done in private or in secret, but be open and blunt. The "phiser" as people who do phishing directly request the desired information to us with tricks and skills that they conquered.
Usually the goal of phishers is a popular website and has many members who are spread throughout the State. There are several websites that become a target destination phiser to get info from the members, among other money-producing websites, websites, electronic bank (such as Paypal, Alertpay, Moneybooker etc.) and social network website (such as facebook, friendster, myspace). Website as above is a "wetland" for phiser to conduct phishing, because of the many members who interact and also the distribution of money and information about credit card data.
So we should be vigilant, especially Indonesia is one country with the largest member of social network sites like facebook. To overcome these phishing practice I have some tips that might be useful for friends, namely:
1. Note the URL in the email sent. Better not be clicked if the sender is not known or do a confirmation to the original website.
2. Usually a phiser not know our names, this can be seen on greeting emails sent like the example above.
3. Make sure the web site address is really valid, by checking it on search engines.
4. Do not give out information / personal data, No. credit card and PIN to anyone. Because the original site will not ask for such important data to friends.
5. Vigilant with email promising sweepstakes prizes or rewards, but we can never be a member of the website.
6. If your friends are already providing personal data to them, then immediately change passwords and other important data. But if they are already ahead and change our password, then you should immediately contact my friends support the original website, and request the best solution.
That is the ways or tips from me to not get caught in phishing activity via email based on the experience I own. So, we as internet users should be more careful in registering a website or receive messages from outside the unknown. Hopefully this can be a benefit to all without intending to reduce the activity of friends diinternet accordance with their stated objectives. We can reduce phishing or other criminal action if we know what kind of crime. Thank you
